The fitness and beauty industries would have you believe that losing body fat is a problem that can only be solved by special teas, magical body creams, intense workouts, or even plastic surgery.

The truth is that our bodies have known how to store and utilize body fat since we crawled out of the ocean. Or on that 6th day, if that’s what you believe.

Let it do it’s thing and see how it goes.

What’s one small thing that you can do to improve 1, 2, or 3?

I’m doing something about that…

Semi-Private Coaching saves you money without sacrificing your well-being, and it improves your well-being without costing your first born.

Personal training IS expensive – and rightfully so.

There isn’t a more important investment we can make than toward our longevity and well-being.

But that fact doesn’t make the financial cost sting any less.

I’m tired crushing the hopes of people that need help, so I’m doing something about it…

I’ve created a Semi-Private Coaching program that lands on the sweet-spot between high-cost private coaching, and low-cost exercise classes.

Check the link in the bio, the website below, or DM me to learn more about the program.

Let’s chat to see if my program is right for you.

Losing weight is FAR simpler than most realize.

I’m not saying it’s easy! I’m saying it’s simple: Ensure that your body is utilizing more energy than you consume.

I can give you an estimation of your daily calorie requirements. I can give you macronutrient targets. I can teach you how to calculate a weight loss timeframe. I can bust your ass in the gym. I can give you a killer home workout program. I can even give you a meal plan (I will not. I hate them. Please don’t ask for one.)

But none of that matters if:
– your routines and behaviours don’t change.
– the objective of your physical activity doesn’t change.
– your perception of Self doesn’t change.

There are a few other things that I can help give you, and they matter more than any of those first ones…

The confidence, self-efficacy, and self-advocacy to put your well-being back into your own hands. And on your own terms.

Losing the 10lbs you recently gained and were so stressed about is great!

Now imagine how great it would have been if gaining or losing that weight wasn’t such a stressful situation in the first place.

P.S. To my fellow Matrix fans, let’s pretend that Resurrections didn’t happen. Cool? Cool.

Introduce change into your current lifestyle slowly. Don’t rush it.

Slowly build up your tolerance to the iocane powder…I mean…the new activities, so you don’t get overwhelmed and lose your shit.

P.S. The Princess Bride is my all-time favourite movie.

According to a 2009 study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, it takes 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit.

In that study, the average time it took was 66 days.

In my own experience and what I see with my clients, the two most important factors in the formation of a new habit are:

1) How far from the “norm” is the new habit.
2) How strong is the desire, or sense of importance, toward the new habit.

In today’s world of vice-like distractions and quick dopamine hits, I truly believe that we overestimate our ability to shake undesirable habits.

Regarding the first factor of forming new habits, the fitness industry has done a fantastic job of convincing us that change is easy and quick. This can have us to trying to change too much, too soon.

To the second factor; if we don’t feel strongly enough about the change, any resistance we meet – and we will meet it – will derail us easily.

As a result, we often quit before it sets, or we revert back to the way things were. If you’ve done a short-term transformation challenge or 10, you know what I’m talking about.

But it’s not all doom and gloom!

We have greater chance of success if we take smaller bites and aim for smaller goals. These consistent wins will build momentum and confidence.

We will also have a greater chance if we are clear WHY we want to make the change. Get real with what’s pulling you toward a new habit or what’s pushing you away from the old one.

The bottom line is that you can’t see the finish line when you’re trying to make a change.

In fact, I believe that we won’t even know when we’ve crossed it because we wouldn’t be so focused trying to find how much farther we have to go.

How we FEEL is decided by what we THINK.

What we think is influenced by our past experiences, and by the information we accept as fact.

It’s not uncommon to misunderstand, misconstrue, or be completely oblivious to the truth.

As our experiences shape us, they also influence how we gather information and process it in our thoughts. We then choose(subconsiously) an emotional response based on what we conclude from those thoughts.

This can leave us caught in a “Thinking Trap”. A way of thinking that often results in a false truth and unrealistic emotional response.

When it comes to our health and fitness goals, these “Thinking Traps” will often be the reason we quit, fall off the wagon, or get down on ourselves for not achieving a goal. They turn us into our own worst enemies, and can be hard to escape.

Do you feel like your fitness journey is too hard?
Do you feel like you’re not capable?
Do you feel like you’re not making any progress?
Do you feel down on yourself because of it?

You might just be stuck in your own thinking trap.
